Updated: Dec 3, 2023

Before reading this article, please read my first article, "Early Intervention is Key to Success."

This early childhood development technique uses both alphabet magnets and alphabet clothing pins. Please complete the following steps to practice the method.

  1. Complete all steps in Early Intervention is Key to Success in creating the alphabet magnets. Use uppercase letters for this example.

  2. Label each clothespin with a lowercase letter.

  3. Place the alphabet magnets (uppercase letters only) in a bin.

  4. Hand your child an alphabet clothespin and let them match the clothespin with the alphabet magnet. and have your child match the uppercase letters with the lowercase letters.

This practice will help your child's fine motor skills while learning upper and lowercase letters.

Your child is developing an understanding of the alphabet by matching the upper and lowercase letters written on the clothespins and magnets.
