UFLI Summary

"After more than two years of development and pilot testing, we are excited to introduce you to UFLI Foundations. This explicit and systematic program teaches students the foundational skills necessary for proficient reading. It follows a carefully developed scope and sequence designed to ensure that students systematically acquire each skill needed to learn and apply each skill with automaticity and confidence. This program is designed for core instruction in the primary grades or intervention with struggling students in any grade. "

Starting UFLI


  1. Begin by using the Quick Phonics Screener to see where your child needs to start instruction. Alternatively, you can start at the beginning and move through each lesson in order.

  2. Order the UFLI manual

  3. Explore the free online materials. They have a decodable text decodable text and a game for all the lessons. In addition, they have an easy-to-use game generator that you could use instead of roll and read.

  4. Join the Facebook community for help with questions about lessons UFLI Community: Building Strong Readers.


 

 

Phonics for Reading Site Description

Starting Phonics for Reading:

1.       Give your child the placement test placement test.

2.       Score the test to decide which book you should start your child in.

3.       Purchase the appropriate materials by calling the customer service number at 1-800-225-0248.
